TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN LEGAL STUDIES

Stephen F. Austin State University, Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies, Nacogdoches, Texas, seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position in legal studies at the rank of assistant or associate professor beginning in Fall 2015.

Qualifications: a J.D. or L.L.M. from an ABA-accredited law school is required.  Preference will be given to applicants with an undergraduate degree in business or related field or an MBA from an AACSB international-accredited school.  Applicants must be a member in good standing in a state bar association. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in practicing law in business-related areas or significant business experience, prior teaching experience in classroom and online settings, and scholarly research.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business law (specifically including real estate law), legal environment, and negotiation/ADR, including classroom, hybrid or online distance learning courses; engaging in research and creative activity leading to publication; and advising students and fulfilling other service obligations.

Wicklander Chair in Business Ethics and Managing Director of its Institute for Business and Professional Ethics (IBPE).  

DEPAUL UNIVERSITY, Chicago, IL. DePaul University invites applications for its Wicklander Chair in Business Ethics and Managing Director of its Institute for Business and Professional Ethics (IBPE).   Drawing upon the Catholic mission and identity of DePaul University, the Wicklander Chair plays a leading role in developing ethics education at the University. The position is jointly supported by both the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the Driehaus College of Business. The Institute consists of a full-time staff and an external Board of Directors comprised of business executives from the Chicago area. The mission of the IBPE is “to facilitate ethical deliberation by stirring the moral conscience and by developing models for ethical decision-making in business and the professions.” It does this through educational programs and initiatives aimed at DePaul students and faculty and by serving as a bridge between the academic and the business communities. Professional organizations and business leaders from Chicago and around the globe recognize the IBPE and its Wicklander Chair for its expertise and substantial body of research. The successful candidate should be an internationally recognized scholar with a distinguished record in research, publication, and teaching.  We will consider applicants at the rank of either Associate or Full Professor. The position involves the administration of the IBPE, in addition to modest teaching obligations.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
